Photo ID is required for all services.
1. Identification (one of the items below)

2. Proof of Address for all adults 18 and older(one of the items below)
  • Utility Bill (current such as water, gas, electric, or waste management)
  • Rental Agreement( if you just relocated to the area)
3. Proof of other household members 17 years and younger( one of the items below, provided proof must have names and birthdates)
  • Medical Cards( provide a print-out from DSHS of members in your household)
  • Tax Papers( current)
  • Welfare Papers( Current)
  • Social Security Cards
PROVIDING THE PAPERWORK WILL ALLOW YOU TO VISIT OUR FOODBANK EVERY 30 DAYS FROM YOUR LAST DATE OF SERVICE AND RECEIVE WEEKLY COMMODITIES/ BREAD.

PSE – Warm Home Funds

 

Please Read First

   Balances to prevent disconnection should be under $300.00 and must be a current shut off notices.Assistance is available to clients who are low-income, at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines, or suffering temporary financial crisis. Current proof of household income is required at the time of screening.

To qualify the client must have a copy of a shut-off (suspension, urgent/final) notice, Customers on the Budget Payment Plan, who have received a “Budget Removal” at the time of screening.
Assistance is for Puget Sound Energy (PSE) gas or electric customers from the second Tuesday in January through May 31 (or until funds are depleted)
 
You must have the proper documents to be seen and screen by a case worker.
 
Proof of verifiable income for all members in the household over 18
 
Current shut of notices (no confirmation of arrangement notices)
 
Walk-Ins are based on my available Monday thru Thursday during our intake hours. No screenings will be done on Fridays.

Rental Assistance

The Salvation Army Guidelines for Rental Assistance
Renton Corps( Effective January 2011)
  
Limitations: If you qualify we only pay a partial amount to prevent an eviction that is determined based on the funding. You are still responsible for your contract rental guidelines outlined in your rental agreement.
  
Twenty-Four months from the time of each service.
 
Persons requesting rent assistance should be directed to the specific rental assistance meeting date and time. On that date plan to be in our office for two to three hours, you will be attending a financial budget class established by Salvation Army Department of Social Services. 
 
Meetings are held once a month. Intake starts at 8:30 am for a 9:00 meeting.
Eviction Prevention rental assistance requires the person to provide all of the following verificaiton and information at the time of the intake:
  • Picture ID and Social Security Card (strongly preferred for all household members in the family unit, but all adults must provide ID)
  • Rental agreement and/or lease agreement & month to month agreement
  • Current household income verification, which shows your income, supports your monthly rent payment. (Such as check stubs, Financial assistance termination letter and Unemployment payment or denial printouts)
  •  Please note that you must provided proof of ongoing income to show the proof and ability to pay the balance or the following month’s rent.
  • Eviction notice or three day-or-vacate notices (No hand written notices)
All information will be photocopied on the premises and original will be returned to you immediately.
 
NOTE: Funds and resources are extremely limited and will be disbursed based upon the availability of resources to prevent an eviction, client’s ability to demonstrate need, and provide required verification.  All clients will be notified by mail within 72 hours of the decision regarding rental assistance.

Water Assistance

We also help families that have services with Skyway Water & Sewer.
We do not have funding for Seattle Utilities or Seattle City Light
 
Funds are limited

 If you live in an apartment, this is what you will need to get help with water:
Current water bill/ past due bill
Letter from your manager (unpaid water bill) (10 day notice)
Current shut off notice
Current proof of household income

Photo ID is required for all services.  We ask that all first time clients show proof of all other household members and fill out an application.
